A scalp brush with soft, flexible bristles and a wooden handle. It does in two minutes what your fingertips do in ten, and it does it without your nails anywhere near your scalp.

Why Use One at All

Most people wash their hair rather than their scalp. Shampoo gets poured on, lathered over the top, and the skin underneath — where the oil, the sweat and the flaking actually are — never gets touched.

A brush reaches it. The bristles get through thick hair to the skin without tangling or pulling, and they clean the scalp properly instead of skating over it.

It also stops you using your nails, which is how most people irritate their own scalp and then wonder why it is sore.

What It Is For

Shampooing properly

Work it in small circles across the whole scalp while the shampoo is on. Two minutes is plenty.

Scalp massage with oil

Apply hair oil along the partings, then use the brush to spread it and massage. It improves circulation at the root, which is the point of oiling in the first place.

Flaking and build-up

The bristles lift loose flakes and product build-up out instead of pushing them around. Use it before a wash with Neem Toner or a clarifying wash.

Itchy scalp

A brush relieves itching without the scratching that makes it worse.

Long nails

If you cannot massage your own scalp without your nails getting in the way, this solves it outright.

How to Use It

  1. Wet the hair and apply shampoo, or oil if you are doing a dry massage
  2. Work the brush in small circles, section by section, across the whole scalp
  3. Light pressure — the bristles flex, so pressing harder achieves nothing
  4. Two to three minutes, then rinse

Use it every wash. For dry oil massage, two or three times a week.

Looking After It

  • Rinse the bristles after every use and shake the water out
  • Stand it bristles-down to drain, out of the shower tray
  • Do not soak the wooden handle — wood swells
  • Once a month, rinse it in warm water with a little shampoo and dry it fully

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it pull my hair?
No. The bristles are spaced and flexible, so they go past the hair rather than through it.

Can I use it on dry hair?
Yes, for oil massage. For cleaning, use it while shampoo is on.

Is it safe on a sensitive scalp?
It is gentler than fingernails, which is what most people use. Light pressure.

Will it help dandruff?
It lifts flakes out and gets the wash down to the skin, which helps. The treatment itself comes from tea tree oil or neem.

Can I use it on hair extensions or after a treatment?
On the scalp between attachment points, carefully. Avoid the bonds.
