Sheesham Wood Comb with Handle – Rosewood Comb for Oiling & Detangling

A wide tooth rosewood comb with a long handle. Sheesham is dense, so there is real weight behind it, and the handle turns that weight into leverage — you can hold a section taut and work through it without fighting your own hair.
What the Handle Gives You
Reach and control. You can part your hair cleanly, lift a section to oil along the parting, and get to the back of your own head without twisting your wrist.
On long or dense hair it is the difference between combing and wrestling.
What It Is For
Applying hair oil
Part, lift, oil along the parting, then comb root to tip to carry the oil down the hair. Use it with Bhringraj Oil or Amla Oil.
Detangling after a wash
Wide teeth, smooth hardwood, no snagging. Start at the ends and work up.
Daily combing on long hair
The handle takes the strain off your fingers when combing takes a few minutes.
Scalp massage
Slow strokes from the hairline backwards, the traditional thing to do before bed.
Why Sheesham Rather Than Plastic
A plastic comb is moulded, and moulding leaves a seam along each tooth. That seam catches the hair cuticle on every stroke — thousands of small snags that add up to split ends. Wood is cut and sanded, with nothing to catch, and it holds no static charge.
Sheesham is Indian rosewood: close-grained, hard, and smooth in a way softer woods are not. It stays that way for years.
Sheesham or Neem?
| Sheesham | Neem | |
|---|---|---|
| Wood | Dense rosewood | Lighter, slightly softer |
| In the hand | Heavier, smoother glide | Light, everyday |
| Best as | The one you keep, or a gift | Daily workhorse |
See the Neem Wood Comb with Handle for the lighter version.
Looking After It
- Keep it away from prolonged moisture; wipe it dry after use
- Never soak it — water swells wood and causes cracks
- Rub a light layer of coconut or almond oil into the wood occasionally
- Clean the teeth with a dry toothbrush, especially after oiling
