Two tooth spacings in one piece of Indian rosewood — wide on one side, fine on the other. Sheesham is a dense hardwood, so the fine teeth come out properly smooth, which is where cheaper combs give themselves away.
How to Use the Two Sides
Wide side first. It takes out tangles without pulling. This is not optional — fine teeth on tangled hair is how hair snaps.
Fine side second. Once the hair is clear, the fine teeth lay the cuticle flat, flatten frizz and cut a clean parting.
Why the Fine Side Matters on a Hardwood Comb
Fine teeth are where wood quality shows. Close-spaced teeth in a soft wood can roughen or chip; in sheesham they stay smooth for years. And unlike a plastic fine tooth comb, there is no moulded seam running down each tooth to catch the hair as it passes.
What It Is For
Smoothing and finishing
The one thing a wide tooth comb cannot do — making hair look groomed rather than just untangled.
Clean partings
Useful if you oil your scalp section by section.
Working oil down to the ends
Wide side to distribute, fine side to carry it the rest of the way.
Daily use on straight to medium hair
One comb covering both jobs.

Looking After It
- Keep it away from prolonged moisture; wipe it dry after use
- Never soak it — water swells wood and causes cracks
- Rub a light layer of coconut or almond oil into the wood occasionally
- Clean between the fine teeth with a dry toothbrush
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the fine side be used as a lice comb?
It is finer than a normal comb but not a dedicated lice comb — those have much tighter teeth.
Is it good for fine hair?
Yes. Fine, straight hair is exactly what the fine side is for, and wood holds no static.
Can I use it on wet hair?
Wide side only, then dry the comb.
