Why It Matters More on a Beard Than on Hair

A beard comb spends its whole life touching facial skin. Plastic combs have a seam down each tooth from the mould, and that edge catches both hair and skin — which is a fair part of why beards itch.

Neem wood is close grained and does not splinter. The teeth are cut and sanded, so they are smooth by necessity rather than by accident, and the wood produces no static — so the beard lies flat instead of standing away from the face.

How to Use It

1. Comb downwards first to lay everything in one direction.
2. Then upwards and outwards from the neck to lift and shape.
3. Comb after applying beard oil — that is when it distributes evenly rather than sitting in patches.
4. Daily. It also lifts the dry skin underneath that you would otherwise scratch at.

Looking After It

Wipe it dry after each use. Wash it rarely and dry it immediately — never leave wood to soak. If it ever feels rough, very fine sandpaper along the teeth will fix it, which is a thing you cannot do with plastic.
