Mysore Sandalwood Soap – Handmade Bathing Bar with Sandalwood Oil & Vitamin E

A handmade bathing bar built on Mysore sandalwood — the sandalwood Indian households have used for skin for generations, and still the standard against which the rest are judged.

Sandalwood powder and sandalwood oil do the work. Coconut oil, olive oil, vitamin E and glycerin keep the bar from stripping the skin, which is where most sandalwood soaps go wrong.

What It Does

• Evens out tone. Sandalwood is the classic Ayurvedic ingredient for dullness and uneven skin
• Cleans without tightness. The oils and glycerin leave skin comfortable rather than squeaky
• Soothes. Sandalwood is cooling, which suits heat rash and skin that reacts easily
• Leaves a scent that stays. Woody and quiet — it lingers on the skin for an hour or two after a bath

How to Use It

Work up a lather in wet hands rather than dragging the bar over your skin — the bar lasts noticeably longer that way. Rinse, pat dry, and follow with oil or moisturiser while the skin is still damp.

Keep it on a draining dish between baths. A handmade bar left sitting in water will soften and go in half the time.
