Pure Rosemary Powder 100g — For Hair Masks & Rinses
पिकअप उपलब्धता लोड नहीं की जा सकी
Rosemary is the most talked-about hair ingredient of the last few years, and almost all of that attention has gone to the oil. The powder is cheaper, more versatile and better suited to masks and rinses.
Ours is pure dried leaf of Rosmarinus officinalis, milled fine.
Why Rosemary for Hair
Rosemary's reputation for hair rests on circulation. It is traditionally used to stimulate blood flow at the scalp, and follicles depend on what the blood brings them.
It is also naturally antimicrobial and astringent, which is why it suits an oily or flaky scalp as well as a dry one.
Benefits
Supports hair growth
The main reason people use it. Works at the scalp rather than on the hair itself.
Reduces hair fall
A healthier scalp holds hair better. This follows from the above rather than being separate from it.
Controls dandruff
Antimicrobial and astringent, which suits a flaking, itchy scalp.
Cuts excess oil
A rosemary rinse leaves the scalp noticeably less greasy, without stripping it.
Adds shine and darkens
Used as a rinse over time, rosemary deepens dark hair slightly and adds shine. It does not colour hair.
Three Ways to Use It
Hair mask for growth
- 2 tbsp rosemary powder
- 2 tbsp hibiscus powder or amla powder
- Warm water to a paste
Apply to the scalp, leave 30 minutes, rinse. Once a week.
Hair rinse
- Simmer 2 tablespoons of rosemary powder in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes
- Cool and strain through a fine cloth
- After shampooing, pour it over the scalp and hair
- Leave it in — do not rinse out
Twice a week. This is the simplest way to use rosemary powder and the one most people stick with.
Infused hair oil
- 2 tbsp rosemary powder in 1 cup of coconut or olive oil
- Warm very gently for 15 minutes on the lowest flame. Do not fry it
- Cool, strain, bottle in glass
Use 2-3 times a week as a scalp oil. Keeps about three months.
For Dandruff
- 2 tbsp rosemary powder
- 1 tbsp neem powder
- Warm water to mix
Scalp only. Leave 20 minutes, rinse. Once a week.
Powder, Oil or Water — Which Do You Need?
| Powder | Essential Oil | Rosemary Water | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strength | Mild | Very strong | Mild |
| Needs diluting | No | Always | No |
| Best for | Masks, rinses | Adding to oils | Daily scalp spray |
| How often | 1-2 times a week | 2 times a week, diluted | Daily |
| Cost per use | Lowest | Highest | Middle |
Many people use all three: powder for the weekly mask, essential oil mixed into their hair oil, and rosemary water sprayed on daily. If you are picking one to start, the powder gives you the most uses for the money.
Using It in Food
This is culinary-grade dried rosemary. A pinch works in roast vegetables, bread, soups and marinades. Use it sparingly — rosemary is assertive.
How to Tell Good Rosemary Powder
- Grey-green, not bright green. Bright green usually means added colour
- Strong pine-camphor smell. Weak aroma means old stock
- Finely milled, with no woody stem fragments
- Leaf only, not whole plant
- Sealed pack — rosemary loses aroma quickly once open
Safety
- Patch test before the first use on the scalp
- Pregnant women should avoid concentrated rosemary preparations
- Keep it out of the eyes
- Rinse thoroughly — powder left in the hair causes flaking that is easily mistaken for dandruff
